Sophia Catanoso, L.Ac.,MAc
Sophia Catanoso, L. Ac, is a licensed acupuncturist and holds a Master of Acupuncture from Northwestern Health Sciences University. She has trained in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and community clinics. She's also worked alongside interdisciplinary teams to serve diverse populations, including those experiencing homelessness, addiction, chronic pain, and mental health issues. She appreciates how Chinese medicine looks at the body as a whole and how each person can have their own specific treatment that works for them.
She has a particular passion for supporting patients in areas of sexual health, fertility and LGBTQ+ health, and is committed to providing affirming care for all individuals, regardless of their background. At the heart of Sophia’s practice is a desire to create a space where patients feel comfortable. She believes in empowering individuals to develop a deeper awareness of their bodies, to encourage curiosity and connection.
Sophia lives in Northeast Minneapolis with her husband and cat. You may find her wandering around her neighborhood with binoculars, looking at birds and various wildlife. She also enjoys baking elaborate treats, gardening, and playing music in a local indie band.
